Late night snack

I've been trailing blogs and websites trying to find interesting stuff about advertising, I've been reading loads of blog but then i end up reading everything and can't find anything else that i can get into. This is something i have known about but yet to read until last night;

Great interview with CD's of MotherLondon and there are loads of others that i've been reading through. You lot reading this probably know about this already but worth a read if you don't.

Anyone got an good suggestions for reading material? Book, Blogs, Sites etc

Probably been told this by people before, but "Hey Whipple, Squeeze This" is a great book to have - even people not interested in advertising can have a good laugh at it, but it is all ultimately true.

Jack Foster's "How To Get Ideas" is also great for opening your mind to just how many questions you can ask about what you're advertising (and there's a hell of a lot more than you realise!)

I also have a few YCN and D&AD books, along with the late Paul Arden's "Whatever You Think, Think The Opposite" and "It's Not How Good You Are, It's How Good You Want To Be". All great for giving you a bit of a pick up if you need it or just to stoke your creative engines.

Or just if you like pretty pictures, like me!

Hi Liam, hope you're well and getting on OK with your work! Some advice on reading material:

Under the Radar by Jonathan Bond and Richard Kirschenbaum (guessing you know that one already).

I also like to read Viz Magazine, especially the Letterbocks section (there's a book of the best ones called Viz's Bulging Sack, I'd recommend that) they're short, sweet and hilarious.

Peanuts, Calvin and Hobbes, Farside anything like that - they're really boiled down, simple, brilliant ideas. Great for Art Direction too.

At the risk of looking/sounding slightly childish I like to read comics aswell (Marvel, DC, Dragonball, The Beano, whatever really) for the same reasons as above.

Hope that helps :) let me know when you and Alison are in town and we can meet up and you can buy me some pints ;P

Guy (not Sarah, she's at her flat. Probably).

P.S: how's the partner hunting going?
